Trailer Record ErrorsCritical
T001Missing Trailer Record
The file does not end with a valid trailer record
Description
Every Metro 2 file must end with a trailer record that contains control totals for the file. Missing trailer records indicate an incomplete file and will cause the entire submission to be rejected.
Common Causes
- File generation terminated early
- Trailer record not created
- File truncated during transfer
- Buffer not flushed at end of write
How to Fix
- 1Ensure trailer record is always generated
- 2Verify file write completes successfully
- 3Use binary transfer mode to prevent truncation

Metro 2 code reference
A rejected value is usually a wrong code rather than a wrong format. Every CRRG code set has a per-code page with its meaning and cross-field rules. Metro 2 codes: the complete cheat sheet puts all of them on one page.
Catch Errors Before Submission
The platform validates every field and catches errors like T001 before you submit to the credit bureaus.
