B003Status and Payment Rating Mismatch
The account status does not match the payment rating history
Field 10 is a coded field. If the value is rejected rather than malformed, check it against the ecoa codes reference.
Description
The Account Status and Payment Rating fields must be logically consistent. For example, an account reported as Current (status 11) should not have a payment rating indicating 120+ days delinquent. This validation ensures data integrity and prevents conflicting information on consumer reports.
Common Causes
- Payment history not updated with status change
- Incorrect status code selected
- Timing differences in data extraction
- Manual data entry errors
How to Fix
- 1Ensure status and payment rating are updated together
- 2Validate consistency before file generation
- 3Review business logic for status transitions
