- The FCBA counterpart to XC.
- Reported after the billing-error investigation concludes without resolving the disagreement.
- Use only on open-end revolving accounts, where the FCBA applies.
When to report XG
- 1A disputed card transaction is verified as authorized and the cardholder maintains it was not.
- 2A merchant provides proof of delivery, the chargeback is reversed, and the consumer still objects.
- 3A recurring-charge dispute is closed against the consumer and the objection stands.
Reporting rules
- Report XG only after the FCBA investigation has concluded.
- If the billing error was valid, correct the balance and history rather than flagging the disagreement.
- Clear with XR when the consumer drops the objection.
